Is it tacky to mention in a thank you card that the cash gift helped pay for wedding expenses?

Dear JstMarried,

Well, not really tacky. But, guests shouldn't really pay for a wedding. After all, they were invited, not hosting. So, it may be best to keep that to yourself and just thank them for the very generous gift.

Best wishes,
