     Monetary Gifts Preferred

Good day Expert,

My fiance insists that he only wants to receive monetary gifts only. We are both in our 40s and a material gift is not necessary. We are not going to register. Many of our guests will be older family members where internet access is not applicable. Please tell me the best way to word it onthe reception card: WE WANT MONEY GIFTS ONLY????? without being impolite or rude.

It is never polite to ask for gifts on an invitation, never mind asking for specific kinds of gifts.

The only way to let people know your gift preference is to let family members know and then, when your guests ask, your family and friends can let them know you prefer money.
