Not sure if guest gave a gift.

Hello,

As you can see from all of my questions I am in the process of writing thank you notes. As I am writing them I am coming upon some problems which I hadn't foreseen so please excuse all the questions.

Where I live it is customary to bring money gifts to the reception. We were very careful to take care of our gifts at our reception because people went out of their way to give us something so this is only natural. I am pretty sure some people did not give us a gift so I was going to send them a thank you card thanking them for coming to our celebration, spending the day with us etc. but then I thought ,what if a card got lost I would feel horrible if I didn't thank them for their gift also. I don't want to ask them if they gave us something. I feel really awkward doing that. Can I send a thank you card just thanking them for coming or is there a way to thank them for their gift in an ambiguous manner. I hope I am explaining myself clearly. Thank you again for all your help.

Thank you
