     Parent's Gift

My fiance's family has not offered to help with our wedding. My parents are paying for the reception and he and I are paying for everything else. Recently his mother and stepfather have told us that they will not be getting us a gift, but will be attending the wedding. Do we still have to get them a parent's gift?

Dear No Gift,

The parent's gift is optional, but a very nice gesture. So, it is entirely your choice.

Best wishes,
