Personalized Anniversary Gifts & Party Favors

When getting personalized gifts or party favors for an anniversary party is there an etiquette rule about who's name goes first, man or woman when using first names only or is it personal preference? My research has indicated that when using a last name the man's name is never separated from his last name thus Jane and John Doe is the proper format, and I have also read references to the bride's name being first in a wedding invitation and on personalized items, however there is no information I can find regarding after marriage if that changes or anniversary etiquette that I can find. Thank you!
