Receiving gifts and cards prior to the wedding

I have a question. One of my bridesmaids has done me a huge favor by purchasing my invitations. She also wants to send them out. The only problem is, she lives in another state. Should there be some type of insert or something telling people to send gifts/cards to our address?? I'm not sure how to handle this because they will be sending responses to her. so I think it will be confusing if they aren't told where to send gifts or cards.

Dear Receiving,

Gifts are never mentioned in a wedding invitation, so please avoid this. You may have the RSVP and the return address as yours so your guest will know where to send gifts if they wish to do so.

Best wishes,
