Returing gifts after wedding postponed "indefinitely"
I was to be the MOH in my friends wedding in just a few weeks. 4 weeks before the wedding date, the bride and groom decided to postpone the wedding "indefinitely." At this point, they are not sure if/when they will reschedule it. The bride has made no mention of returning the wedding gifts already received. I'm not sure that she knows she's supposed to return them if the wedding is off. Is it proper to inform her of this? If so, what would be a polite way to go about that? I don't want to seem selfish, like I'm asking for my gift back specifically, I just want to make her aware of the proper etiquette in this situation. Thank you for your help!
If the bride chose you to be her MOH, she must care for you deeply. So, as a good friend you wouldn't want her to do something she would later regret, especially if she didn't know any better. So, please yes inform her that she is supposed to return all gifts used or no.
This is another reason we don't use any gifts until after the wedding.
It may be best to inform her in person, privately, and when she seems as if she is not stressed.
