My neightbor's son got married a few weeks ago. It was a small wedding with mostly family. The mother called me about a week before the ceremony and invited me to the church but I was going out of town and couldn't attend. I'm on very good terms with them but don't know them real well. We help each other out once in a while as neighbors do. Should I send a gift? I wanted to at least send a card, but was afraid that would look bad if it had no gift in it.

Dear DebTeega,
No gift is necessary, but a card would be a nice gesture.
