Sending thank you notes for shower and wedding gift at the same time.

A couple, who have been dating for a long time but do not live together, gave us our wedding gift yesterday. At the same time, the female gave me (the bride) a shower gift for the shower that she was unable to attend. How do I do thank you notes? Can the shower gift and wedding gift be part of the same thank you note? Do we send two separate notes to each half of the couple since they do not live together?

Thanks!

Dear Kcason,

Since the wedding gift was from both of them it would be best to send a separate thank you to both of them for the wedding gift. You could combine the thank you for the shower gift on hers.

It was very generous of her to give you a shower gift. She wasn't obligated if she didn't attend.

Best wishes,

I know she wasn't obligated to and it was very sweet of her.

Thanks for your help.
