Should co-worker buy gift for bridal shower and wedding
Is it customary to purchase a gift for both the bridal shower and the wedding? I have never had to do this before!
I'm curious because the bride is a co-worker and she directed me to several registries when I tried to ask, but none specify whether they are just for her or for both...I'm confused as to what to do!
Should I get a pretty, girly gift just for her - separate from the practical wedding gift? That sounds like a lot of gifts, especially for a co-worker.
As a co-worker, would it be okay to purchase a gift from her registry, give it to her at the shower and bring nothing to the actual wedding?

It seems odd that you don't seem to be that close to the bride and yet you've been invited to her shower. Typically the shower is an intimate gathering of close friends and family. But, apparently you are invited so, you'll be expected to bring a gift to both the shower and the wedding.
You can select something from the bridal registry for both events or you can choose to shop and select your own gift. It's a totally personal decision. Top Wedding Questions Forum Moderator - "Write your sorrows in the sand, your blessings in stone".

I completely agree on all accounts.
Plus, if you choose not to attend the shower, you are not expected to give a gift. And please, ship the wedding gift to the bride before the wedding. Please don't bring it to the wedding or reception. Rebecca Black, Etiquette Now
