If you give a shower gift do you still send a wedding gift?

Dear Shower/Wedding Gift,

Although all gift giving is optional, it is expected to give a wedding present even if you have provided a shower gift. Just because it is expected does not mean that if you didn't, the etiquette police would come to get you. It is simply expected.

If you do choose to give a wedding gift, please mail it to the address listed at the site where the couple is registered. This is often the bride's mother's home or the couple's home if they are planning their own wedding.

Sincerely,
Rebecca Black, Etiquette Now
