     Shower Gift vs Wedding Gift

AngelicMy sister and I are Senior Citizens on a fixed income. We were invited to our niece's bridal shower, and each took a gift.

UnsureWe plan to attend the wedding which is this Saturday, but can't really afford to make the 150 mile round-trip and buy a wedding gift too.

Blush Will we be creating a serious breach of ettiquette if we attend and don't take another gift?

I understand your dilemma, however, you are expected to send a gift to the home of the bride before the wedding, if attending. Hopefully, the gift you gave at the shower was a small token, which is what is really expected at showers, and not an extravagant gift. Perhaps you could make a gift, if you have a specific talent, or can give a gift of your time. Maybe a coupon for future dogsitting or house sitting services?

Enjoy the wedding.
