Signing the Wedding Gift Card from a Couple

I am attending a wedding of two good friends next month along with my boyfriend, and I am currently shopping for their gift. My boyfriend has met the couple once, and his name was on the invitation along with mine, however we do not live together and they are my friends from college. I am planning on purchasing the gift myself, however should I included his name on the card when I send it? Thank you.

Dear Jsm,

If you are the guests and granted an escort, which is what this seems to be, only your name would be listed.

Best wishes,
