Thank you for an early gift?

I was just wondering when a thank you card should be sent to people who send early gifts because they are not attending the wedding. The wedding is two months away and we received some gifts. Do we send the thank you notes out now or wait until after the wedding?
thank for your advice.

Dear Vegasbride2be -

You should send thank you notes as soon as you receive and open the gifts. Do this so that the sender knows the gift was received and not lost. But please do not use the gifts until after the wedding.

Enjoy!
