I hope this hasn't been answered already... I tried searching posts but didn't see what I was looking for.
My step cousin, who wasn't able to make it to the wedding, just ordered us a gift off of the registry. However, the product is on back order and the estimated shipping date isn't until the middle of March.
My husband and I are working on our thank you cards now (we were married Jan 13th), and I was wondering, should I send my cousin a thank you card now, or should I wait for the actual gift to arrive (In case something happens to it)? It does look like (from the email I received) that the item is still available, just not in stock at the moment.
Thanks!

Re: [tinkie77] Thank you for gift on backorder

Dear Tinkie,
Good question.
I would wait for the actual gift to arrive to write the handwritten thank you note. But, you could email or call your cousin to inform him that the gift is back ordered and you will notify him when it has been delivered. You could thank him for the thought at this time as well.
