     Wedding Gift From Uninvited Co-Worker

We recently recieved a gift of our registry from a co-worker of mine who is not invited to our Sept. 24th wedding. She was one of the final people that was cut since we had a strict cap on how many people we could invite.

Should we send her an invite now at this late date or is it rude to invite her and her husband 3 weeks prior to the wedding? We have room now since we have more poeple unable to attend then we planned. How do I thank her for this gift?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Dear Gifted,

She will know that she is on the second tier of guests. But, you can invite her if this is handled delicately. Be honest about the strict cap and that you had wanted to invite her before. Now you can. Of course you will still have to mail her invitation. But, it is best to talk to her as soon as possible due to the late date.

Verbally thank her and follow up with a written thank you note.

Most people can appreciate honesty.

Best wishes,
