My son and his new wife will be driving from Utah/Oregon to New York with the wife's belongings. Is it appropriate to state on the invitation or an insert to the invitation that they are 'registered at' a store? Are there stores that allow a person to purchase a gift from a registry then have the gift delivered to/picked up at the state the couple will be living in? I agree that family should be the ones to 'spread the word about this'; unfortunately the parents don't live close to where most of the guests do ... so that is not a real viable option. The couple will be driving back in a Honda Civic with the wife's belongings in the car. They would like to avoid the expense of shipping ... is there a solution in the ethernet?
I'm not quite understanding. Your son and his fiance are getting married in Utah/Oregon? Is the invitation you are asking about an invitation to a wedding, or an invitation to a reception in New York? It's a bit confusing. But, the one constant is that it is not acceptable to include any information about gifts or registries on a wedding or reception invitation.
Most big department stores and those on the internet will ship the gift anywhere. So, the bride would simply state where each gift should be shipped when she registers. The couple could also set up a wedding web site which could state all of their information such as the move and their registries.
