My niece is getting married this Saturday. We were invited to 3 different showers and I purchased a gift from their registry for 2 and purchased a ornament for the tree for a shower to trim their tree. I even co-hosted the miscellaneous shower.
Are we required as etiquette to purchase a wedding gift too?

It is unfortunate that your neice had so many showers; two should be enough. Plus, you weren't expected to give a gift at each shower if you're attending more than one. Hopefully you bought some relatively small tickett items for the shower gift since those gifts should be small token gifts like appliances, towels, etc.
It is expected that you will send a gift to the home of the bride before the wedding. This could be any gift of your choosing so if you're low on cash now, select something that fits your budget and relationship.
