     Wedding Thank You Confusion

I recently attended a wedding where I brought a gift along and left it at the gift table. I received a thank you note letting me know my gift card was found by itself (sans gift) - and if there was a gift thanking me for it.

Should I let them know what the gift was in case it was not found? I do consider myself properly thanked - but should I clear up the confusion? Just curious.

Dear Pierce,

You could let them know. There is nothing wrong with it. Plus, they may be wondering who gave them the gift without the card.

This is a very good example, though, of why it is best to ship the gift to the couple's home before or shortly after the ceremony. Gifts are left all of the time.

Best wishes,
