Wedding gift to person who attended my wedding, but..
So I have a friend that attended my wedding solo. He gave me a very generous gift. A gift that a couple would normally give. About double what most singles would give.
I have his wedding in a few weeks. Is it proper etiquette to give him double what he gave me?
Thanks in advance!

Never base a gift decision on prior gifts from the recipient or any other guests. Rather, give a gift that suits your budget and the level of your relationship.
Especially with regard to weddings, there is no standard of what a single or couple give. There are all sorts of relationships and budgets. We do not select our friendships/rlationships based on financial capabilities so it makes sense that we would not hold everyone to the same gift giving standard.
Some of the best gifts I've ever received were either handmade or hand selected for me with love. Top Wedding Questions Forum Moderator - "Write your sorrows in the sand, your blessings in stone".

I couldn't have said it better and completely agree. Rebecca Black, Etiquette Now
