Wedding registry info for a destination wedding

Hi, I am getting married in the Caribbean and I live in the US. I'm having problems deciding how to list a registry on my website seeing that we already have a house and everything else which we need. How do we give guests the option of depositing money into our wedding account since we cannot travel with gifts and we don't really need anything for the house without being impolite.

Confused

Dear Confused:

I'm not sure what you are refering to when you say 'wedding account' but I hope you are talking about a wedding registry that allows financial deposits through a bank or investment house. And, that this account is not tied to your actual account for your wedding budget. While having this type of registry is acceptable, you need to let your friends and family members tell guests that you would like monetary gifts. Don't initiate discussions about you wanting money or imply that financial gifts are what you really want.

Another option is simply to have family members and friends circulate that guests should send their gifts directly to your home given you can't travel with them.

Cheers!

Lucky you! You have the man of your dreams AND everything for your home!

Since you already have everything you need why not spread the word that gifts are not necessary or let everyone know the name of your favorite charity so they can make a donation in your name?

Celebrate all of your blessings! Smile
