We are the father and step mom of the groom. We could not attend the out of town bridal /new home shower for the kids. We are giving them money in a card as we did the rest of the children. We have 1 week left before we attend the wedding. There are 3 days planned before the actual ceremony, a bridal luncheon for the girls and a golf outing for the guys, the rehearsal dinner the night before and a meet the parents BBQ 2 nights before the ceremony. When is the proper time to give the kids their gift? I have been over and over your site and this has truly been a Godsend to me as our other 3 children had very simple,small yet elegant weddings and this one is an all out, huge , out of town, yet very, very formal elegant wedding. And my husband to add has been the hardest to get along with in getting ready for this one. As a recovering alcoholic myself, I have just about blown my 3 years sobriety on this one. Like I said, thank goodness for your site. All I had to do was print out your answers to the things he didn't agree on and he went right along with it so as not to embarrass me or the kids. Again, thanks so much ladies!!!!!

There really isn't any perfect time. But, I would imagine that you could find a private time before the wedding--sometime in the next few days. Please give it to them in private.
A special note to all: there is no such thing as a new home shower. However, a bridal shower may have a theme of gifts for a new home.
