     bridesmaid wedding gift etiquette

I am a bridesmaid in my good friend's wedding. What is the proper etiquette for wedding gifts from the bridal party? The wedding is out of town, which will require me to book a plane and a hotel room, and I am paying fullly for the bridesmaid dress(which is quite pricey - $220 US). As you can see, the expenses are adding up quickly. How much is one suppose to spend on a wedding gift - if one at all?

Your input would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!
Gloria

Dear Gloria,

Typically you would give one gift. This could be a joint gift with the other bridesmaids. There is no exact dollar amount that is expected.

Best wishes,
