giving a gift when you're the date of a guest

I was asked to go to a wedding with the man I am dating. The wedding is his brother's and my boyfriend is the best man. Normally, I would give a gift with my boyfriend, but he and his family are giving money to the couple for their honeymoon (it was decided before we started dating). At the time of the wedding, I will be seriously dating this man for about 3 months. Do I give a gift on my own if I am not technically an invited guest? I have met his brother and fiance already. I think I would rather error on the side of being generous and give a gift on my own, but I don't want to overstep my bounds as the girlfriend of only 3 months (though both my boyfriend and I feel that we are more serious than normal for people who have only been dating for this short time - probably because we are a little older - I'm 31 and he's 28).

Dear Giving,

No, you do not need to give a gift. You are a guest of the best man, so no one will be expecting you to do this. No worries.

Enjoy!
