     married only 3 months

Frown My husband and I are filing for an annulment after only three months. I have already sent Thank You cards awhile back but we haven't started using the gifts because we were in the middle of a move. (so everything is in boxes) Is it expected of me to return the wedding & shower gifts???

Dear Married Only,

Please accept my most sincere sympathy. This cannot be an easy time for you.

Traditionally, the bride would return gifts if she did not live with her husband as 'husband and wife'. There are different opinions about how long a period of time is considered appropriate to keep the gifts or return them. The bottom line is that you did live with your husband, so technically you could keep the gifts.

You have to decide for yourself what feels comfortable for you.

Best wishes,
