We will be moving across the ocean a few months after the wedding. Help! We are unfamiliar with New Zealand stores (thus a NZ registry would be difficult) and we can't really afford to ship gifts. I would like to provide (via word of mouth or wedding website, of course) those offering gifts a suitable alternative to 'sending a gift to the bride's family home' in which the thoughtful gift would likely be 1. returned to the store or 2. put in a costly storage shed for 3+ years.
Thanks, Lola

Dear Lola,
Perhaps at each store you register with you could include a New Zealand address for the gifts to be shipped. This is typically part of the registering process--a shipping address.
