no gift or maybe stolen gift? how to write thank you card

There was no gift or card from three of the couples at our wedding. I don't want to ask them if there was a gift that may have gotten stolen or lost in case they didn't give a gift. How do I write a thank you note if I don't know if they actually gave a gift or not?

Dear Dcjs,

This is one of the biggest reasons gifts should be shipped to the couple's home and not brought to the reception. But, there is no way to know if they did bring a gift. You could ask someone to solicit the information by having them mentioning to the people who may have gave nothing what they gave you as a gift, hoping the other person would mention what they also gave. But, prepare yourself for the fact that they gave nothing. Many are gift frazzled these days because of so many expecting gifts for everything.

Best wishes,
