not attending wedding, do I send a gift?

I see lots of posts on issue of if you give a shower gift, you should still give a wedding gift, because they are 2 separate events. I gave a bridal shower, gave a shower gift, and am invited to the wedding but cannot attend the wedding. if i'm not going to the wedding, should i still send a gift?

Dear Patty,

You asked the right person, because I don't believe that you do. There are a number of etiquette professionals who still believe that an invitation obligates the guest to give. But, there are those, such as me, who believe that it is not.

It is your choice.

Best wishes,
