I actually have 2 questions, but they really are the same.
1. I know about my bridal shower and have already received a few gifts. Is it appropriate to open them before the shower and if it is is it appropriate to send a thank you note before the shower?
2. Same questions as above but for my wedding gifts.

If you receive some bridal shower gifts before the shower please have them brought to the shower and open them there along with the rest of the gifts.
