     out of town wedding gift

I'm traveling across the nation to attend a last minute wedding. I am also in the wedding party. I was always told that my travel (me purchasing airline ticket) should be viewed as a wedding gift. Is this true. Do I need to give a gift?

No..your prescence is not your present. You'll be expected to give a gift.
