registry items given as birthday gifts

Hello,

My fiance and I have just registered for our July 2006 wedding. Both he and I have had several people mention that they will buy our Christmas presents from our registries. I understand the tradition of not using wedding gifts until after the wedding. My question is do we follow the same tradition if registry items are given as Christmas or birthday presents?
Thanks!

Dear Gifted,

Great question. If the gifts are not wedding gifts, they are yours to use and enjoy when you receive them.

Just make sure and get those thank you notes written promptly! Wink

Best wishes,
