wedding guest never received a thank you card

I was invited to attend a very close friend's wedding in June of this year but could not attend due to pressing military obligations. I explained this to my friend of 14 years and told him how much I would miss his special day. Months have passed and I have not heard back from him since the day that I told him I could not attend. I have also never received a thank you card for any of the gifts I sent to him and his bride. Did the military turn one of my friends against me or is something else amok?

It's really hard to know just what happened here without getting caught up in a lot of detail. I would suggest calling your friend or, at least, write him a letter expressing your feelings.

I'm sorry you did not receive a thank you. This is never excuseable.
