Choosing bridal shower gifts from wedding registry.

I’ve been invited to a surprise bridal shower, which I can’t attend because I will be away on vacation. The invitation to the shower included bridal registry cards to two different stores. I would like to send a gift since I can’t attend the shower, but am I expected to pick a shower gift from the registries, or are the registries reserved strictly for wedding gifts? The wedding is three months away. Should I send a gift of money for the shower instead and then in a few months access the bridal registry for the wedding gift? Thank you very much.

If you're not attending you are not obligated to send a gift. However, if you'd like to send a gift, it is your choice of gift. You can select something off the wedding gift registry or purchase something of your choosing. Money is not an appropriate shower gift.
