     Gift Registry Question

Great site! A big thank you to all of the contributors! (Sorry for the length of this!)

I have a quandary that I have been unable to find an answer for. My husband and I had a destination wedding with a few family members attending (his side) and we were not planning on registering at all. However, several of my new in-laws have come to us asking where we were registered as people have been asking them. So we registered but are unsure how to inform people. Since there were no invitations per say, we had wedding announcements printed up (but did not include any mention of a registry - just our photobucket link). A friend told me to insert a card or something similar into the wedding announcement with the registry location but I have read that this is taboo and considered rude (eeek!). I know that my husbands side of the family will have no problem with “word of mouth” but my friends and family are quite spread out and do not often speak to each other. Other than them calling me directly, how should I handle this? Should I put the registry information on photobucket somehow (on a picture or graphic or some such)? Thanks in advance for your help!
