     Gift Registry etiquette

My Fiancée and I are both students and we are going to be moving to different location about every 3 months. We can’t register for any type of gift because of this situation. What would be the best thing to do? Is there any polite way of letting our guests know that if they like to bring anything, they can bring money. I know this is awful and I need some professional advice

Thanks

Dear No Gifts,

No, there is no polite way to do this. You could register for a honeymoon package for your guests to contribute to. But, many will not and find it less than appealing. So, it may be best to tell those close to you of your position and let them get the word out.

Best wishes,

Perhaps a family member or friend would be willing to take charge of any gifts given and you can collect them when you're in a more stable living situation.

I forgot to mention that you could register for a honeymoon gift registry.

Of course, you cannot force anyone to buy from a registry but it's available for suggestion.
