How to handle wedding gift registry when getting married and then moving to Europe

Hi,

I am American but am getting married in Germany and will be living there with my German husband. I have been organizing this wedding like it will be a destination wedding since all of my family and most of my friends are over here. What do you suggest I do for gift registry? I won't be able to take over a lot of "stuff" and obvious things like electronics or any thing that needs an outlet won't be usable over in Germany. Is it unreasonable have guest purchase gifts online (from European stores) and have it shipped to us in German?

I honestly don't know what is appropriate or how to handle this. Thanks for your help!

Dear Busyizzi,

Yes, it may be best to register with outlets in Germany and to have the delivery address your address in Germany.

Best wishes,
