     Money request

My fiancee and I live in Israel and will be getting married in Texas. We cannot take gifts to Israel unless they are very small and as such would prefer monetary gifts. We have a wedding website and wondered how we could do this and still be propper.

Thank you

Dear Gift Receiver,

There is no polite way to ask for cash. It would be like saying, "Hey, I'm getting married, bring your wallet." So, it would be best when you register list your home address for shipping. The gifts should be shipped to your home before the wedding. They shouldn't be brought to the reception. Many do not know this, so it is best to let others know by word of mouth. Ask some close family members and friends to inform people when they ask about gifts.

Best wishes,
