     Registry

My fiance and I have lived together for 6 years and already have a daughter. In saying that we have accumulated alot. We don't expect any gifts. We are planning a destination wedding and will have 15+ couples present and a reception when we return. Is it inappropriate to register? I don't expect any gifts but I am sure thier will be family/friends insistent upon sending them. I will graciously accept and send thanks. If given the choice I would rather receive something I want/needed. I don't want to seem greedy or tacky. Thanks!

Dear Six Years and Counting,

Register. It is fine. Many will want to give you gifts even if they are not invited to the wedding. (the gifts are supposed to be for the wedding)

The guests will then have a choice of purchasing a gift from your registry or something they feel reflects their love for you.

Best wishes,
