Registy information and how to let people know

I am getting married in Jamaica with only a few guests attending. We are having a reception a month after our return. I am not having any type of formal shower...maybe just a few friends going out to celebrate. My question is how do I let other family and friends know my registry information? I've read that including any cards in the announcement is a big no-no but I'm stuck on how to inform people invited to the reception. I have created a wedding website that includes a registry, however, have been told by my mother that my "family will not do that, it is more for friends". Also, many in my family do not have computers, internet access etc. and would not have a clue how to navigate a website. Please help!

Besides using a personal wedding website you can get the word out through family members and friends. Tell the people closest to you and let them tell anyone who asks.

It would not be polite to send cards in the wedding announcements or reception invitations.
