We already have everything we need - should we register for wedding gifts
We are fortunate to already have all that we need, we didn't want to register for our upcoming wedding, but I am tired of people asking and feel like people are going to just buy something anyway. We have tried to say that gifts are not necessary, but no one seems to buy that. I am concerned that if we do not register we will get a hideous guacamole bowl from aunt susan that we are required to have out when anyone visits. We have thought of asking for charitable donations, but are stuck on how to do that.

Dear Iamthefuss,
Bravo on your focus.
One very positive way to do this would be to create a wedding website where you can suggest a list of charities or ask your guests to choose their favorite. These sites are very easy to create.
I sincerely applaud your focus. There are so many worthy causes.

Even if you register, or ask your guests to donate to a charity, that doesn't mean they have to or will. Aunt Susan may still give you the hideous bowl. If you receive something you don't like, or don't want, either return it or donate the gift. If you feel your aunt might ask about the gift then keep it and use it when she visits.
