     wedding gift registry when eloping

My boyfriend and I are going to be eloping in 2006. Nobody is aware of what we are planning, but we are planning to have a party when we return. Do we registry anyhwere if we are eloping but still going to have a party/reception.

Dear Eloping,

You can register, but your party is not considered a gift giving situation. Gifts are given for the wedding; not the part or reception. However, many guests may want to congratulate you with a gift, so you could register. Just do not inform people of your registry unless they ask. Smile

Best wishes,
