Addressing wedding announcement to married couple doctors, woman maiden name

Sending a wedding announcement to a married couple, both doctors, but she kept her maiden name. This is how she said to address the announcement:

Dr. Cindy Lou Black and Dr. Paul A. Blue & Family

Is this proper weddiing announcement wording etiquette?

Thanks!

RR

Dear River Rat,

You could list it that way and exclude the word family. You aren't inviting them, only announcing the wedding. So, the rest of the family would know as soon as the couple reads the announcement anyway. And, there is no need for middle names.

You could also list them as: Doctors Cindy Black and Paul Blue.

Best wishes,
