After wedding party, wording of announcement/invitation

My son is having a small wedding with only 75 guests. There will be a reception following the ceremony for the invited guests. His father and I would like to host a party/reception for the newlyweds when they return from their honeymoon. The invitation list would include numerous family members and friends who were not invited to the wedding for lack of space. Do we use announcements to inform of wedding and include an invitation to the celebration? Should announcements and party invitations be sent separately although they would be going to the same people? Would those that attended the wedding and reception get another invitation to the party? How would I word the announcement/party invitation?

Dear After Wedding Party,

You could simply send reception invitations to those whom you wish to invite to the celebration. Use an informal invitation format. You could even handwrite a letter to each informing them of the wedding and inviting them to the reception party.

It is entirely your choice who you invite. You do not have to invite those from the first reception.
