Can we make an announcement and a invitation all in one

We are getting married July 16 in Niagara Falls. We are having a wedding reception on Aug.20 in our home town. Our immediate family and a few friends will be there for the wedding itself but our whole family and all of our friends will be at the reception. Can we make an announcement and a invitation all in one, and if so how do we word this?

Dear Announcements,

There is no need to write announcements to those whom you wish to invite to your reception. This is a given that you will be married by the time of the reception. So, just send the reception invitation.
