Ceremony, Meal same location Dance different location

We're holding our ceremony in a church, with dinner to follow in the church hall. Later that evening we're holding a dance in a different location in the same town. How should we word this in the invitations? And is it proper to only invite some people just to the dance and not the ceremony and meal? Thanks for your help.

Dear Separating Elements,

It isn't polite to invite some to only the dance and not the meal portion of your reception. Not everyone needs to be invited to the wedding. But, they should all be invited to the entire reception. It is just a bit difficult to see this, due to separating the elements of the reception.

It would probably be best to include a separate card with the information concerning the dance. This can be worded any way you wish if it is not formal.

Best wishes,
