Destination Wedding When to send Invites

My fiance and I are getting married in the Bahama's this May. We are having a reception back home on July 29th. When do we send out the invitations to the reception? Do we send out an announcement as well or do we combine the invitation and announcement and send it out before we go away and get married? ? ? ?

Dear Jhunkele,

You would send invitations to those you want to attend the reception 6 to 8 weeks prior to the reception. Your invitation would be written as an announcement/invitation combined. To those who will not be invited to the reception announcements can be sent in May right after the wedding.

True. Because your guests to your reception will know that you are married or will be by the time of the reception. So, you do not need to say anything about the wedding on the reception invitation.
