     Grooms' parents' not invited

My fiance is adopted and not on speaking terms with any of his family. None are invited to the wedding. Also my father is not invited and will have nothing to do with the wedding. My question is, how do we word the invitations to include my mothers name. She will be the only parent mentioned on the invitations.

Dear Only Mom,

This is easy. Just list your mother at the top of the invitation:

Mrs. James Walker

requests the honour of your presence

at the marriage of her daughter

Cheryl Rae Walker...

Best wishes,

Unless his adopted parents are to be mentioned on the invitation, there is nothing to say. You wouldn't mention where he is from. Typically it is the host who is mentioned at the top of the invitation. Although, we mention parents who are not paying often. And, often we will write: daughter of... and son of... under the couples names. But, this isn't the case here if his parents are not being mentioned.
