Listing of deceased mother and stepmother on wedding announcements

My son is getting married and is wondering how to word the wedding announcement. His mother has passed away and I have remarried. His announcement is going to have the parents names on the bottom corners of the announcements. How would we list these names properly?

Dear Eagle5man4,

His stepmother wouldn't be listed unless she was a mother to your son. His mother could be listed as: also the son of the late XXX. Parents really don't need to be listed on announcements sent in the mail though. These are only meant to announce their marriage. Only those who really need to know would receive them, which would be those who know him.

Best wishes,
