Mom's Boyfriend listed on the wedding announcements
My brother-in-law is getting married and my mother-in-law wants HER boyfriend's name on the announcements...a boyfriend who she tells everyone she's breaking up with every other week. What is proper etiquette for this? And how do we tell her if it isn't what she wants to hear?

Dear Chellebelle,
The parents would announce the wedding if this were a traditional setting. More often these days, the couple announces. But, if the couple wants tradition, only the mother's name would be listed. The boyfriend is not his father.
These are sent after the wedding, not before.
Also, this information is in any etiquette book.
This is a traditional announcement with both parents announcing:
Mr. and Mrs. James Walker and Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Jones announce the marriage of Cheryl Rae Walker to Mr. Timothy Earle Jones Date Location
This is the more modern announcement that many are using:
Cheryl Rae Walker and Mr. Timothy Earle Jones announce their marriage Date Location
