Need Some Advice Please On my wedding annoucement...

I needed some advice since I have a single parent I wanted to post in our wedding annoucement my parents name and family will request your presence ... Is this proper or is it wrong? My mother seemed to think it was a wonderful idea to include the family in the annoucement as much as I but we weren't sure how it would sound. Thanks.

Is this an announcement or an invitation? An announcement is sent after the wedding to let friends and family know that you were married. An invitation is sent to ask your friends and family to attent the weddding. You mentioned the word announcement but then used the phrase, "request your presence", implying an invitation. Obviously the wording for each of these would be different.
